We have been providing personalized luxury safaris in Tanzania since 1989. We can confidently recommend some great choices of luxury tented safari camps and lodges from all over the country.
Most of the camps have their own open sided customized safari vehicles affording fabulous game viewing of the African wildlife. Experience the thrill of finding huge herds of elephant and buffalo while game viewing. Also see prides of lions lying in the shade of an acacia tree after a nights hunt. All part of the “big five” just waiting to be explored. Follow the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra on the Serengeti plains. Explore the Ngorongoro Crater, where 30,000 animals reside. Tarangire and Lake Manyara famous for elephants, flamingoes and incredible bird life.

Arrival day and Day 1 Saturday: Arrival into Dar es Salaam and collection by driver to a lovely quirky hotel on the estuary. Bed and breakfast.
Days 2 & 3 (2 nights) Sunday and Monday: Flights from Dar to Selous. Lovely camp on Lake Manze. Selous Game reserve. Game drives, bush meals, boat safari, evenings around fire. Amazing bird life.
Days 4 & 5: (2 nights) Tuesday and Wednesday: Flight from Selous to Ruaha. Situated on a river. Game drives, large elephant herds. Dinners by candlelight, Evenings around fire. Huge species of game walking by tents.
Days 6 & 7: (2 nights): Thursday and Friday. Flight from Ruaha to Lupita island private airstrip. Collection from plane and short 5 minute drive to mainland jetty, 10 minutes speed boat ride to Lupita island. 3 wonderful relaxing days and nights on Lupita island.
Days 8 & 9: (2 nights). Saturday and Sunday. Leisurely breakfast on Lupita. Back to mainland by boat and 3.5 hour drive with Lupita transport to Katavi National park. Incl lunch on the way. Remote park teeming with game. Amazing game drives. Very few tourists so a real wildlife experience. Famous for crocodiles and Hippo. Large herds of elephant and buffalo. Large marshlands with interesting bird life.
Day 10: Monday. Scheduled flight from Katavi to Dar es Salaam and your onward journey.

Arrival day 1: Monday. Meet and greet at Kilimanjaro airport. Transfer by chauffeured vehicle to lovely rustic hotel on outskirts of Arusha. Bed and breakfast.
Day 2: Tuesday. Very early morning collection by private driver guide. Drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Breakfast and coffee on Crater floor. Day in Crater. Picnic lunch. Teeming with game. Spot a rhino and large elephants. Ascend late afternoon. Overnight at rustic camp on Massai Stepp.
Day 3 – 6: (3 nights) Wednesday to Saturday. Early morning departure and drive to Manyara airstrip and flight to Serengeti. Arrive Serengeti airport, collected by professional guide and 4 x 4 safari vehicle. 3 days and nights in a wonderfully comfortable luxury camp. Ensuite tents. Shaded verandas. Hot showers. Game drives with private guide, buffet lunches, evenings around the fire. Maybe a balloon ride on request.
Day 6 and 7: (3 nights) Saturday and Sunday: Flight from Serengeti to Ruaha National park. Met by new driver guide. Explore Ruaha each day with exciting results. One of the biggest parks in Tanzania, vast and exciting. Famous for its elephants and cats. 2 nights Ruaha National park. Staying on a high escarpment with views as far as the eys can see. Game visiting daily as you enjoy the veranda of your ensuite spacious tent.
Day 8 to 11 (3 nights): Monday to Thursday. Flight from Ruaha to Lupita Island on Lake Tanganyika. Just a 10 minute boat trip. 3 relaxing days and nights on Lupita Island. Snorkelling, diving, kayaking, fishing. Cocktails under the stars. Sunset cruise as the sun sets over the horizon. Enjoy a fully catered buffet and fun day on a deserted beach. Visit the derelict monastery on the mainland steeped in history. Gourmet meals by candlelight.
Day 11: Departure day: Thursday. Flight from Lupita to Dar es Salaam.

With your experienced guides. Learn about their habitat and their family groups, watching them in their natural environment. Mahale Mountains is also home to many other diverse animals and monkeys, different from the other parks. Wild and exciting.
Day 14. Early morning boat ride back to Mahale airstrip and your flight back to Dar es Salaam and your onward journey.
